What Happen in Vegas

Release Date : 1 May 2008 (USA premiere,California), 9 May 2008 (USA) , 7 May 2008 (Indonesia)

Director : Tom Vaughan

My Comment :

i think the movie is good enough

i’d give the movie 7/10

it’s so stupid that it turns out funny

The film’s about two strangers who meet in Las Vegas and, after a drunken night out, wake up the next morning married to each other. They plan to divorce, but when Jack (Ashton Kutcher) lands a jackpot on the slots machine using Joy’s (Cameron Diaz) ….They agree to divorce and split the money, but the Judge doesn’t concede it to them, and force them to live together for 6 months, in order to make them try to succeed their marriage. It’s the beginning of a living hell to them, because they can’t stand each other… :(

The movie is a romantic comedy. but it’s pretty predictable. There are some funny moments in the movie but as soon as it’s over you forget what you were laughing at.

Finn is able to convince Nigel and his ditzy daughter Gemma (Alexis Dziena) to join him in his quest for the treasure. Tess is once again pulled into the hunt and joins the new treasure hunters.

My Comment

This movie try turn a romantic comedy and action packed thriller, but fails. The script was written like a sinetron (that they call in my country :P) that jumps all over the place. The problem with “Fools Gold”. It’s just so predictable. You can even see in the trailer how the movie ends T_T. i think the movie was little bit cliché. Fool’s Gold is a comedy which did not produce me any laughs ,the action scenes are not exciting and the villains from this movie are so stupid.

Definitely, Maybe

Release Date : 24 February 2008 (USA)

Director : Adam Brooks

My Comment :

I just saw this movie yesterday and I loved it.

i’d give the movie 8/10

The movie had a great message to it about always being happy. The little girl in this movie was also great she brought a lot to this movie, with out her this would not have been a good movie. The acting was good and the direction was especially good as well. For someone that loves romantic comedy movies I think would love this movie. It was a little slow moving but I kind of expected it to be. After it got near the end of the movie though it really got you thinking and wishing for him to end up with the girl he was meant to be with. Then his daughter tries to help him find his true love and happinest.

Just watch the movie :P

The Onion Movie

Release Date : 3 june 2008 (USA)

Director : Tom Kuntz ,Mike Maguire

My Comment :

i like The Onion News, i like the onion website

but this movie??? hmmm…..

ok, i’d give the movie 7/10
however the movie never quite succeeds in its level of humour as its website does, granted there are some great laugh out loud moments <I found myself laughing quite a bit.> but i think some sketch only about a decade out of date there T_T

This movie isn’t so much a movie as it is a collection of skits. There is no real story what so ever. That being said viewers who enjoy plot and a rich story may not enjoy this movie.

Kungfu Panda

Director : Mark Osborne , John Stevenson

I Love it!

i’d give the movie 8/10

Synopsis

Kung Fu Panda is the story of Po (voice Jack Black), a sweet, but clumsy Panda who has dreams of fighting with the legendary Furious Five and protecting the city against all threats. The only problem is that Po has no real life experience of kung fu, and his real job is serving noodles at his dad’s noodles shop. News of selecting the Dragon Warrior is sent out from the Jade Temple, and the whole city along with Po, go to the celebration. The competition is between the Furious Five: Tigress (voice Angelina Jolie), Viper (voice Lucy Liu), Crane (voice David Cross), Monkey (voice Jackie Chan), and Mantis (voice Seth Rogen). Po accidentally enters the contest and is named the Dragon Warrior. Master Shifu (voice Dustin Hoffman) must find a way to train Po and make him a Kung Fu Master, especially, after they learn that the snow leopard, Tai Lung (voice Ian McShane), is headed their way.

My Comment

The story was great and the background was beautiful, it really felt like an ancient Chinese city. This is a cute animated comedy that also inspires lessons in life. The audience can relate to people who have dreams of doing the impossible, just as Po. Po ultimately learns that if he believes in himself, he can do anything :P. and…..he delivered laughs with expert timing. Good……

you must watch it! :P

Nim’s Island

Jun 09, 2008 in Movie

Nim's Iland

Release Date  : 4 April 2008 (USA)

Director : Jennifer Flackett , Mark Levin

My Comment :

I’ve just watched it.

it was pretty good.

i’d give the movie 7/10

*** This comment may contain spoilers ***

Nim is a little girl who lives on an island with her dad who is an adventurer. Now they have not told anyone where they are and their living place, good idea if they need help, right? Well, her dad goes on a research assignment, and gets hit by a nasty storm stranding him in the middle of no where. When Nim gets an E-Mail from famous author, Alex Rover, who she thinks is a real life hero, Alex wants answers about volcano’s for her next book, but Nim wants help since she’s alone on the island and her dad hasn’t returned. Alex has one problem, she’s agoraphobic, but gets the strength to go on an adventure and help Nim out with the help of her famous character Alex Rover to get through this Indiana Jones ordeal.

Nim’s Island is a cute movie. but i think, it’s a movie that is forgettable unfortunately hehehe. And, there were some parts that were ‘too cute’ to enjoy. Some of the animals used…though they were real, looked fake and unrealistic….like the bird hahaha…..The seal was probably the most realistic acting animal and did a nice job.

The Bucket List

The Bucket List

Release Date : 16 December 2007(USA,Holywood Premier) ,11 January 2008 (USA)

Director : Rob Reiner

My Comment :

it was pretty good.

i’d give the movie 7/10

The story is quite predictable, but I still enjoyed it. Never mind how impossible the storyline is because it is a great movie about friendship - how two men become great friends in a short time and help each other out throughout the time they are together. It moves along at a smooth pace and I never got bored. The acting was top notch as Nicholson and Freeman draw forth the right emotion in the audience at the right time. The emotional parts are done just right, but the funny scenes are the best. I laughed throughout the movie but not as much as I would in a true comedy movie. It does have a message at the end about how you should live your life to the fullest, how your family is important, and how you should be happy in life and the movie delivers that message perfectly.
